Our dated treks are a selection, not the whole country. If none of them is quite what you had in mind, we design the route from scratch: the terrain, the number of days on foot, the altitude, the nights. Built and led by mountain guides certified by the Moroccan state.

Start from the landscape you want under your feet. Everything else, the distance, the altitude profile, the nights, follows from it.
The Sahara, on foot
Walking the erg is nothing like riding across it. Days measured in dunes rather than kilometres, camels carrying the camp, nights where the silence is total and the sky does the work. Erg Chigaga, Erg Chebbi, the Draa and the stone deserts between them.
Terrain: sand, reg and hamada · 8 to 20 km a day · nights in bivouac or private camp
The mountains, at altitude
The High Atlas holds North Africa's highest ground and some of its least-walked valleys. Toubkal at 4,167 m, the M'Goun massif and its 4,000 m ridgeline, the Ourika and Aït Bouguemez valleys, and passes that connect villages no road reaches.

The unusual landscapes
The country's strangest ground, and the least crowded. The black volcanic towers of Jebel Saghro, the Todra and Dades gorges, the lone volcano of Jebel Sirwa, the fossil plateaus of the Anti-Atlas, and the Atlantic cliffs where the desert reaches the ocean.

The valleys and oases
The gentler option, and often the most memorable. Walking from village to village along irrigation channels that have run for centuries: the Rose Valley, the Draa palm groves, the Aït Bouguemez, the saffron plateaus around Taliouine at harvest.

Who walks with you
Mountain guides certified by the Moroccan state, not freelancers found on arrival.
Every route is led by a guide holding the national mountain guide diploma, trained at the CFAMM in Tabant, in the Aït Bouguemez. They are from the valleys they walk you through. On our side, no route enters a proposal before one of our own team has walked it.
Certified, and insured
National mountain guide diploma, current first-aid certification, and liability cover. We give you the guide's name before you commit, not on the first morning.
From the valley, not from the city
Guides who grew up on the ground they lead you across, and who can knock on a door in a village where no hotel exists. This is what turns a walk into an encounter.
Evacuation planned in advance
Route filed, satellite communication on remote sections, and the nearest physician and evacuation route identified for every night of the itinerary before departure.
Or take a date that already exists
If one of these is close enough to what you had in mind, it is simpler and cheaper than a bespoke route. Everything on the ground is included.
