Strength through stillness. Precision in every breath.

Pilates & Yoga

An eight-day immersion in classical Pilates and yoga, practised at sunrise on dunes or rooftops. No mirrors. No machines. Just your body, the landscape, and the kind of presence you can't find in a studio.

The experience

Pilates & Yoga

This is not a wellness retreat. It's a return to the foundations of physical intelligence. Sunrise sessions on the desert floor or Marrakech rooftops. Afternoon restorative flows. Evening breathwork under open sky. Led by Europe's leading Pilates and yoga instructors through our studio partners.

Duration

8 days, 7 nights

Group size

8–14 guests

Format

Co-branded with partner studio

What to expect

Pilates & Yoga · 8 days

Twice-daily practice (morning dynamic, evening restorative). Functional anatomy workshops. Breathwork and meditation sessions. All levels welcome, the programme adapts to you.

How a week of practice is built

Two sessions a day, with the hours between them doing as much work as the mat does.

01

Sunrise, while the ground is still cold

The dynamic session runs at first light, on the dune floor, a riad rooftop or a terrace above the valley. In the desert that is the only window before the heat; on the coast it is the hour before the wind gets up.

02

The middle of the day is yours

Nothing is scheduled between late morning and late afternoon. People sleep, read, walk, sit in the hammam. The practice holds because the recovery around it is real, not because the timetable is full.

03

Restorative at the end of the light

The evening session is slow: floor work, long holds, breath. It is built to drop the nervous system before dinner, not to add a second workout to the day.

04

Anatomy, once the body has a question

Mid-week, a workshop on what the practice is actually doing: hips, spine, breath mechanics. It lands better on day four than on day one, which is why it sits there.

Where the practice changes

Same discipline, three very different rooms.

Sahara, Erg Chigaga

Flat, silent, unlit. Sand gives under the feet, so standing work becomes a balance practice without anyone announcing it. Our own camp means the session starts where you sleep. October to April; the erg closes to us in high summer.

Marrakech and the Atlas

Riad rooftops at dawn, then valley terraces at altitude. The city gives warm mornings nearly year-round, the Atlas gives thin air and cedar. The two sit ninety minutes apart, which is why most weeks use both.

The Atlantic, Taghazout and Essaouira

Cooler mornings, salt air, the ocean a walk from the mat. Wind is the variable: strongest from March to June and again from September to November, which suits some practices and not others.

Pilates and yoga in Morocco, answered

Do I need experience to join?
No. Sessions run at two levels in the same room and the teacher sets the regression and the progression per person. What matters more than experience is being willing to practise twice a day for a week.
How long is a Pilates and yoga retreat in Morocco?
The reference format is eight days and seven nights. A group that wants five days gets five, and a studio bringing its own community sets the length with us before anything is booked. No duration on this site is a rule.
Who teaches?
On a published departure the teaching comes from the partner studio the week is co-branded with. On a private week the studio or the teacher brings their own practice and their own people, and Umnya carries the places, the logistics and every hour on the ground.
How many people are in the room?
Published departures run 8 to 14 guests. A private group goes to 20. Above that we split it into successive weeks rather than teach into a crowd.
