Consulting

We advise the way
we operate.

Umnya produces wellness events across Morocco and owns a permanent camp in the Sahara. The same teams advise hotels, resorts, clinics and developers on the wellness offer they are building, and take the mandate to run it when that is what the project needs.

Six mandates

Each one can be bought on its own. Most projects begin with the first and end with the fifth.

Owners and investors

Diagnostic and feasibility

What the site can carry, what the market pays for, what the wellness component adds to the business plan and what it costs to run. A written report, with the arithmetic behind it.

Hotels and resorts

Concept and positioning

What kind of place this is, who it is for, and the one thing it must be known for. Register, naming, guest journey, and the promise the rest is built to keep.

Spas, clubs and clinics

Programme design

The week as the guest lives it: disciplines, class mix, coach profiles, treatment menu, equipment list, recovery protocols, and the partners worth bringing in.

New openings

Recruitment and pre-opening

Hiring and training the wellness team, written procedures, supplier setup, pricing structure, and the first season's calendar.

Owners who would rather not run it

Operating mandate

We run the wellness side under contract: programming, team, quality, reporting. Paid on what it produces, not on what it promises.

Companies

Corporate wellness programmes

A year of work for a company's own people: sessions on site in Casablanca or Rabat, off-site weeks, and the events that hold the programme together.

How we are paid

There is no rate card, because no two projects are the same. There are four shapes, and we say which one applies in the first conversation.

Fixed fee

For a diagnostic or a concept, with the deliverables written down before we start.

Project fee in milestones

For programme design and pre-opening, paid as each stage is accepted.

Fee on revenue

For an operating mandate, with an incentive tied to results and a term long enough to matter.

Monthly retainer

For a company programme, for a season or a year.

Why an operator rather than a study

Umnya is an operator first. It designs and runs wellness events across Morocco for studios, gyms, clinics and brands, and it owns a permanent camp in Erg Chigaga, sixty kilometres of piste beyond the last paved road at M'Hamid.

So the advice arrives with the part a consultancy rarely carries: the ground. Vehicles and drivers, guides from the regions themselves, suppliers, permits and teams that already work in Marrakech, Casablanca, Taghazout, Dakhla and the Sahara.

UMNYA Collection, the group's own hospitality platform, is building eco-built places on its own account. We test on ourselves before we recommend.

Who we work with

Five kinds of client, one question in common: what should the wellness offer be, and who runs it.

Hotel groups and resorts
An existing spa that underperforms, or a wellness floor to design before it is built.
Residence and resort developers
A club, a spa or a recovery floor inside a programme being sold.
Clinics and medical wellness
Aesthetic, longevity and recovery clinics adding stays, programmes or a destination offer.
Institutional owners
Owners and asset managers who hold hotels and want the wellness side to earn its floor area.
Companies
Employers who want a wellness programme their people actually attend.

How a mandate runs

Six stages, and a clear exit at the end of each one.

  1. 01

    Brief

One call, then a written brief we both sign off. If the project is not for us we say so here.

  2. 02

    Site and market read

We visit. We measure what exists, we talk to the teams, we price the ground.

  3. 03

    Report

Findings, options, and the arithmetic behind each one. Yours to keep, whatever you decide next.

  4. 04

    Decision

You choose the scenario. We write the scope, the calendar and the budget for it.

  5. 05

    Build

Programme, team, suppliers, procedures. Everything that has to exist before the doors open.

  6. 06

    Run

We operate it under contract, or we hand it over to your team and stay available.

Questions owners ask

Do you only advise, or do you also run it?
Both. Most of our work starts as a diagnostic and continues as an operating mandate, because an owner who has read the report usually wants the team that wrote it.
Can you work on a single floor inside an existing hotel?
Yes. A spa, a club, a recovery room or a padel court is a project in itself, and it is often the fastest thing to fix in an asset that already trades.
Do you work outside Morocco?
Morocco is where our teams, suppliers and permits are, so that is where we take mandates. We travel for the brief and the design work.
Do you publish your fees?
No. The four shapes are described on this page, and the number is quoted in the first conversation, once the scope is clear.
Can you get our building certified?
Building certification is its own trade and we do not sell it. We design the programme and the operation, and we work alongside the certifier the project appoints.
Is there an exclusivity?
For operating mandates, yes: by city and by segment, so we are never running two competing places in the same market. It is agreed in writing at the start.
Who owns what we design together?
You own the concept, the procedures and the programme we write for your asset. The Umnya name stays ours, and is licensed only when we also operate.

Tell us what you are building

A call, then a written brief. If the project is not for us, you will know in the first conversation.
